Meet Our Staff

Initially my biggest decision was; “Do I want to move half way across the world, to achieve my goals?” Honestly and thankfully I did and it has become one of the best decisions of my life.

I have been with Farringdon Group since 2008 and started here training in the Financial Advisor Malaysia Academy. I am now CEO of the company, and have enjoyed each and every challenge that has been thrown my way. Our HQ in the heart of Kuala Lumpur is great place to work and learn; Malaysia is a great place to live and is a lot more westernized than most people initially think!

At Farringdon Group we focus on building long lasting relationships with our clients and employees. We have developed one of the best training academies in the region and it helps each new employee become a valued member of our team.

If you would like a career with Farringdon Group and you have the dedication and determination to succeed; then please, give us a chance to develop you into a valuable member of our team.

I was one of the original founders of Farringdon. I had previously worked in investment banks in London as well as other offshore brokers. One of our key objectives in setting up Farringdon was to create an office environment where people could be professional but still have fun. We also wanted to create a company that would support its staff with ongoing training to help them get the most out of their time in the offshore industry. I had decided on my career path at an early age and knew what possibilities there could be with working in private wealth management sector. I am always looking for a challenge and a position that keeps me interested 100% of the time. Finance always throws a curved ball and it’s down to well educated, diverse personnel who can act on global economic factors effectively and efficiently. Farringdon Group ticks all of the boxes and as a young company it gives opportunities to employees from all walks of life.

I have been with Farringdon Group for 3 years and it has been fantastic to be a part of the company growing from one office in Malaysia, to having several offices and hundreds of clients throughout Asia, Russia and Middle East. We have a great team and are all involved in helping to expand the company, and encouraged to share our ideas which I think is important.

One of the things that I think is great about Farringdon is the commitment to helping its employees to progress in the company. We are always given the opportunity to go on courses or get more qualifications to further our knowledge and help us achieve more in our roles and career. My role has developed from Business Development to General Manager.

Living in Kuala Lumpur has been fantastic, and thankfully English is widely spoken which made for an easy transition into living here. It is such a vibrant city and a perfect base for weekends away to explore other parts of Asia. I have joined several of the local sports teams and have played in tournaments from Singapore to Bali to Thailand, which certainly beats playing the local sides in Scotland.

.................................................................................................................................................................

I was over the moon when I was given the opportunity to work for Farringdon Group in Kuala Lumpur in Dec 2009. Having had a very comprehensive interview in the UK, where all my skills came into practice, with public speaking, sales knowledge, confidence, maturity and drive all being thoroughly tested in the 4 hour interview.

Working overseas has never been an issue for me, having worked for a very well known youth tour operator in Ibiza for over 5 years it was great to get out of the UK and start something fresh in a city that I had only been to for a few days 10 years ago. As I pulled into Kuala Lumpur City centre the feeling of déjà vu crept in and I remembered how special the Twin Towers were - stunning, standing tall over a vibrant multi-cultural, lively, brilliant city.

I have now been in Kuala Lumpur nearly a year and have passed my exams to become an offshore financial consultant. However, I chose to become International Business Development Manager and use my interpersonal skills to create business and move the company forward. I have created lasting and memorable relationships with suppliers, clients and local business men and women that I will keep now for life, such is the friendly nature of people here in Asia.

You're probably thinking it can’t all be good, well, it is hard work!!! But you get out what you put in, if you put in the time, learn, read and listen to others experiences, you will only get better and the world is your oyster. The thing that drives me on, is that everything is a challenge. I pride myself on being the best I can be with each and every client I bring through the doors here at Farringdon Group; I give them a personal experience on the telephone and a professional view of the company. I am a very honest person and I think this comes off well to people as we are rapidly growing as a company in over 8 countries here in Asia.

To be totally honest, the odd trip back to the U.K. is always nice, but here and now is BRILLIANT!
